Someone hit her, and hit her hard!
Orzel went sprawling to the dirt, her rifle being knocked from her shoulder as the two tumbled and tangled. She kicked and flailed and struggled in an attempt to either get away or get the high ground - neither of which happened.
When they stopped moving, it took her a moment to realize she was on top, and she tried to scramble away only to find Jamie on top of her and the cold steel of his saber against her neck. Staying put seemed like the best idea, but so did trying to run. Her fingers scratched and scrabbled at the dirt, and she tried to get up but there was no luck there.
She gave up for the moment, needing to wait for the chance to run again.
Jamie huffed, his sword pressed right against her neck. It almost seemed like he would cut her neck their and then, but he didn’t. Then, his hand went around her wrist, holding her down to the ground as he glared daggers at her.
“You little shit.” He mumbled. Damn was he pissed off. Like said before, only he was allowed to harm Charlie in such a way. But that wasn’t the point, what he didn’t like was the fact that she had almost killed one of his men, er, partners.
Gritting his teeth, he panted, legs locked on each side of her so she wouldn’t even think of moving. He sat down on her (sort of lol), and continued to pant.
Waiting for some men to come by to help him out. If they didn’t, then he’d take her back to the camp himself.
James drew his sword out seeing that the others did as well. ”It will be my pleasure sir.” he smirked.
“Yes sir.” nodded John as he fumbled a bit getting his sword out. But at least he got his weapon out without dropping it at least.
“Prepare!” ordered James. Everybody drew their swords in front of their faces.
“Aim!” All the soldiers, including John, pointed their sabres head.
Nothing was heard except the wind and the eager horse’s hooves. John however thought he could heard his own heartbeat. Imagine how much of a bigger beat would have been produced out on the battlefield. ”Chaaarge!” yelled James. With that the horses galloped at the speed of lightning.
Jamie grunted as they charged on. He was going to prove to everyone - again - that Topthorn was the best horse they had! The roughest, the toughest and even the fastest horse!
But he seemed to have competition. Not only did James’ horse catch up with him, but Johns also did. Damn! Now he wouldn’t be able to prove it!
Looking to the both of them, he leaned a little more forward, hoping to help Topthorn run faster than everyone else!
River blushed. “I do like him.. yes.” She said smiling at him.
Cecilia smiled because she felt she had done well.
There was a horn sound and Margaret walked out in a coat and nodded to the Major and looked at River.
River stood with Cecilia. “Your father?”
Margaret nodded and stayed quiet.
Cecilia waved to the Major. “Have fun.. nice to have met you.”
River walked the two out and came back in and sat down. “She’ll be staying with her parents.”
“Wonderful.” He nodded to Margaret and Cecilia, then looked back to River and gave her a soft smile.
Jamie bit his bottom lip. Well.. what could he talk about now? It had been a while since he had pleased a woman.
“So..” Jamie hummed. “Would you like to go dancing sometime later tonight?”
Orzel fully felt like she had just ruined the day and really wanted to flee. She definitely wouldn’t blame Jamie if he never wanted to see her again. She had just dropped a lot on him in the course of one night. She was pretty terrible.
“It’s called Lunar Sedata Syndrome. It’s a disease that slowly destroys my memory. It also makes me sleepwalk and hallucinate, and occasionally I’ve hurt myself when I’m having a bad episode, but it’s not contagious until I die…” That didn’t sound any better! Damn she was terrible. “Maybe I should go.”
“No.” He shook his head. Maybe they could waste away the rest of the day with some fun. Whatever sort of fun she wanted. Well… it depended on the sort of fun she wanted. “PIck something. We’ll go do it.”
He chuckled. “Maybe something like dancing or maybe even singing?” He snorted. “Just an example, of course.”
